When your rear derailleur gets bashed on a rock, the UDH will pivot back and out of the way to protect the frame and the derailleur

Re-rail Design:

Protect your derailleur against chain jams between the cassette and the frame. It helps guide the chain back onto the cassette if it's coming off one of the smaller cogs towards the frame
